The JIRA Suite Utilities plugin provides three additional custom fields:
- Location Text
- Location Select
- Directions (since version 1.4.10)
- Free Text Searcher

As of June 22, 2016, Google Maps API no longer supports keyless access (any requet that doesn't include an API key). Please create a valid API Key and configure under Administration → Tab: Add-ons, Section JIRA Suite Utilities / Configuration. (Since Version 1.4.12 or 1.5.2)

Location Text Custom Field
Description | The 'Location Text' custom field allows users to specifying address in free form text when creating/editing an issue. The location will be shown as an inline Google Map in the issue. |
Configuration | Configuring the Location Text custom field is no different to configuring any other JIRA custom field. For information on how to configure a custom field in JIRA, see the JIRA documentation. |
Example | A user specifies 'Sydney, Australia' in a Location Text field when creating an issue: |
Location Select Custom Field
Description | The 'Location Select' custom field allows users to choose a preconfigured address when creating/editing an issue. The location will be shown as an inline Google Map in the issue. |
Configuration | You must configure the Location Select field options when creating the custom field. For example: |
Example | A user chooses the 'Sydney, Australia' option in a Location Select field when creating an issue: |
Directions Custom Field
Description | The 'Directions' custom field allows users to specify an origin and destination location as text when creating/editing an issue. The directions will be shown as an inline Google Map Directions in the issue. To separate origin and destination, the separator => has to be used. The directions from origin to destination are made in driving mode. For instance only origin and destination may be set by user input. |
Configuration | Configuring the Directions custom field is no different to configuring any other JIRA custom field. For information on how to configure a custom field in JIRA, see the JIRA documentation. |
Example | A user specifies 'Locarno => Lugano' in a Directions field when creating an issue, and once saved and when the issue is in view mode, Google Map Directions will be shown:

Description | The Free Text Searcher allows additional search fields to be added to the standard JIRA search. |
Configuration | When creating a custom field, you must specify the 'Search Template' to be 'Free Text Searcher': |
