Set the SLA Goal as a Negotiation Date

This page is about Time to SLA for Jira Server. Using Jira Cloud? Click the Cloud button above.

The Negotiation Date is the date that the SLA timer counts down to.

To set the SLA Goal as a negotiation date, you should:

  1. Go to SLAs > Add New SLA Definition.

  2. Find Goals, and select Negotiation Date.

  3. Click the drop-down menu to see all of the possible date fields and select one.

  4. If the field/custom field is a date, enter a time. For example:

  5. Your Negotiation Date has been set!

If the selected field is a date picker instead of a date-time picker, then an extra “offset” selection will open because a time (hour and minute) needs to be part of the deadline.
