How to update legacy filters and start using JQL and WIQL filtering
This article explains and shows how to start using JQL and WIQL filters after upgrading from TFS4JIRA Self-Hosted 9.4.1 or lower to the latest available version.
FACTS
A new FILTERS section, based on the possibility to enter JQL and/or WIQL has been implemented since TFS4JIRA Self-Hosted 9.5.
After TFS4JIRA Self-Hosted upgrade, each profile still utilises filter entries setup with the old TFS4JIRA version (9.4.1 or lower)
HOW TO UPGRADE EXISTING FILTERS
Below steps must be reproduced for all TFS4JIRA profiles using filters, setup with older TFS4JIRA.
Login to TFS4JIRA
Open the profile by clicking on the profile’s name
Go to the FILTERS section in opened PROFILE
Legacy filters will be automatically present in JQL query and WIQL query text field.
some adjustments and corrections may be required
to validate each query please click Test query button
Filter Jira items and Filter TFS items checkboxes must be checked to start using filters after saving settings
Once filters are entered, corrected, adjusted and tested, please click SAVE SETTINGS button at the bottom of the FILTERS section. Failure to do so, results in returning to initial legacy filters usage.
In case of any issues or questions during filters update, please report the same to Appfire Support.
TFS4JIRA Self Hosted has REST API that can be used in order to update filters as well as other sections of PROFILE configuration.
