Access to the resource is forbidden error message when refreshing in Power Bi Desktop

This article explains the steps to fix the Access to the resource is forbidden error while refreshing/loading/importing the data into Power BI Desktop.

Instructions

Reset the data connection in the Power Bi Desktop app to re-enter the credentials. The steps to follow:

  1. Click on the File tab at the top left of Power BI Desktop.


  2. Click on the Options and settings on the menu.


  3. Select Data Source Settings to open the window shown below


  4. Click on the Clear permissions and press Close.
  5. Now, re-enter the credentials while connecting to the required data sources to load the data as usual.
