How to configure an announcement for a specific duration in Bitbucket

This article explains how to create an Announcement for a specific date range using the Announcer for Bitbucket app.

Instructions

Follow the steps:

1. Log into the Bitbucket instance as an administrator.
2. Select the Cog menu to navigate to the Administration page.
3. From the left sidebar, under ANNOUNCER FOR BITBUCKET, select Announcements.
   
   

4. When you are creating an announcement for the first time:

   a. You see the Create one now button, clicking on which you can a new announcement
   
   b. If you have existing announcement(s):
       You see the Add another notification button, clicking on which you create another announcement.
   
5. Add the details in the Announcement Editor window.
   a. Click Show advanced options button to see the option to select the date range. 
       
   b. Select the Enable time restrictions on announcement option to display the calendar.
       
        
   c.  Select the future date range by selecting the start and end date to display the announcement. Please note the dates prior to the current date are disabled (for which you cannot set announcements).
        For example, select the date range from 10th of Nov to 16th of Nov 2019, as shown in the below screenshot:
        
6. Click the Save button to create the announcement.

You see the announcement as soon as the targeted users log into the Bitbucket instance for the specified date range.
