How to configure an announcement in Confluence in plain text format

This article explains step by step instructions on how to create a new announcement in plain text by using the Announcer for Confluence app.

Instructions

1. Log into your Confluence instance as an administrator.
   
2. Select the Cog wheel  > General configuration.
3. From the left sidebar, select Announcements from the ANNOUNCER FOR CONFLUENCE section.
     

   1. When you are creating an announcement for the first time, click Create one now to create your first announcement.

      
   2. If you have any existing announcement(s), click Add another notification to create a new announcement.
      
      
4. In Announcement editor, enter the respective details of your choice as shown below:
   1. Select the Plain Text option from the type of announcements.
   2. Enter your announcement details into the Plain Text Contents.
   3. To configure additional settings to your announcement, click Show advanced options... For more details, refer to this page.
   4. Click Save to save the details or Preview if you want to check how the announcement looks.

              
        5. You see the announcement on the confluence page as soon as your targeted users log into the Confluence instance.
