How to configure an announcement for a range of dates in Confluence

This article explains how to create an announcement for a specific date range using the Announcer for Confluence app.

Instructions

  1. Log in as a Confluence Administrator and click > General configuration.

  2. From left side panel, click Announcements in the ANNOUNCER FOR CONFLUENCE section.

  3. When you are creating an announcement for the first time, click Create one now to create a new announcement.


    If you have any existing announcement(s), click Add another notification.
  4. Add details in the Announcement Editor screen.
    1. Click Show advanced options.
    2. Select Enable time restrictions on announcement to display the calendar.
    3. Select the future date range, that is, the start and end dates, on the calendar. Note that the past dates are shown to be disabled.
      For example, select 31 October to 8 November as the date range, as shown:
  5. Click Save.

The announcement is created and is shown during the specified date range.

  • You can also select the date range for announcements spanning multiple years.
  • It is recommended to test this function in a non-production environment before deploying it in production.
  • The feature to set the date range as a current-day for the respective announcement is available from 2.11 version onwards.
