How to create a project with predefined issues from a template using Delegated Project Creator for Jira

This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to create a project with predefined issues from a template using the Delegated Project Creator for Jira app.

Instructions

  1. Log in to Jira with an Administrator account.
  2. Click on the Cog wheel menu  ,> Manage apps.
  3. Locate the Delegated Project Creator section in the left sidebar and select Issue Schemes to display the Issue Schemes page.
  4. Provide the Scheme Name and Description and click Add to create a new scheme. For eg, Dev Team scheme. Once the new scheme is created, click on the pencil icon.

  5. Create new Issues by selecting the appropriate information in respective fields and click Save.

  6.  The issue will be created and placed under the Issue scheme section(ex: Dev Team Scheme) as shown below. Similarly, you can create as many issues as you want to populate when a project is created from the template.

  7. Update the project template by selecting the newly created issue scheme in the Issue Schemes section. For  example here, we are adding the Dev Team scheme to the software-template.

  8.  Any user, who create a project using the project template, will have the issues as per the Issue Scheme settings.

Once you create the project, all the predefined issues are created along with that project as shown in the below screen shot.
