How to import issues from an existing project into an Issue Scheme using Delegated Project Creator for Jira


This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to import issues from a project into an issue scheme using Delegated Project Creator for Jira app.

Instructions


  1. Log in to Jira with an Administrator account. 
  2. Click on the cog wheel menu  Manage apps.
  3. Locate the DELEGATED PROJECT CREATOR section in the left sidebar and select Issue Schemes:
  4. Provide the Scheme Name and Description and click Add to create a new scheme. For eg., Dev Team scheme.
  5. Once the new scheme is created, click on the pencil icon.
  6. Click on Import from Project
  7. Select the desired project from the drop-down list to import issues from that project. Once you select the desired project, click on Import Project.
  8. Once you click on Import Project, by default, it selects all issues from that project. You need to deselect the issues if you do not want to import. 
    Now, click on Looks good! Import the Project. 
  9. Next, go to Project Template edit page of the template in question, associate the above scheme under the Issue Schemes field and click Save:
  10. When a project is created using an issue scheme (eg., software-template), all the issues which you imported from the existing project (eg., temp project) are copied to the newly created project (eg.,QA project).
