How to convert a Confluence space template as a global template using the Comala Document Management App

Confluence templates save time when creating content and ensure consistency across different pages.

With templates, Comala Document Management workflows associated with labels can be automatically applied to pages. This eliminates the need for users to remember to add the page label that assigns the corresponding workflow when creating a page.

For more details about Confluence templates and labels, please refer to this article: Comala Document Management Datacenter | How to automatically assign a workflow using Confluence templates.

Confluence global templates can be used for all spaces in the Confluence instance, but that is not true for space templates. If you want to convert an already existing Confluence space template into a global one, please follow the instructions below:

Instructions

You can manually make a Confluence space template a global template using the Confluence Source Editor app.

Currently, native Confluence functionality does not offer an administrator a way to promote a space template to the global template list. There is an open feature request on this functionality: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFSERVER-59999.

From the Find Apps section in the Confluence Administration:

  1. Install the Confluence Source Editor app
