Reports display inconsistent user names when using Reports and Timesheets for Jira app

Problem

Reports created using the Reports and Timesheets for Jira app appear inconsistent in displaying user names. This is due to the fact that some user's Full Names are shown, while the Display Names are shown for other users.

Solution

The Reports and Timesheets for Jira App will consistently use the user’s Full Name wherever possible. If the user's privacy setting restricts the app from reading it, the user's Display Name is displayed instead.

If you would like to use each user’s Full Name for display in reports consistently, ask your users to follow these steps for visibility settings.

  1. Have each user log in to their respective Jira Cloud account on their browser.

  2. Once logged in, the user needs to go to Profile and visibility.

  3. For the Full Name visibility settings, under the “Who can see this?” column, ensure that each user has selected your organization or Public from the dropdown list.
