Images or attachments not displaying in Advanced Tables for Confluence in Firefox

This article explains how to resolve issues where tables or content within Advanced Tables for Confluence macros (such as TablePlus) do not render correctly or appear "funny" when using the Firefox browser.

Issue

When viewing a Confluence page containing Advanced Tables for Confluence macros, the tables may not populate properly, or images and attachments within the tables may be missing. This issue is often specific to the Mozilla Firefox browser, while the page renders correctly in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.

Root cause

Firefox’s Enhanced Tracking Protection typically causes this behavior.

The Advanced Tables for Confluence Cloud app runs on the Atlassian Forge platform. Firefox’s default privacy settings can sometimes block or interfere with the scripts and embedded content required for Forge-based macros to render data correctly.

Solution

To resolve the display issue, you must disable tracking protection for your Confluence site in Firefox.

  1. Open the affected Confluence page in Firefox.

  2. Click the Shield icon located in the address bar (to the left of the URL).

  3. Toggle the switch to Turn off protections for this site.

  4. Perform a Hard Refresh of the page:

    • Windows/Linux: Ctrl + Shift + R

    • Mac: Cmd + Shift + R

  5. The tables and their content should now render correctly.
