Switching Timeboxes from Manual to Automatic: Steps and Important Notes

Switching Timeboxes from Manual to Automatic

Once a Timebox has been configured as manual, it cannot be directly converted to an automatic Timebox. To apply automatic scheduling rules, the existing structure must be recreated.

How to revert to Automatic Timeboxes

  1. Remove existing sub-boxes
Delete all manually created sub-boxes within the Timebox.

  2. Recreate the Timebox structure
Set up new sub-boxes using one of the available automatic generation rules (e.g., based on dates, sprints, or iterations).

Important notes

  • This action is not reversible - deleted sub-boxes cannot be restored.

  • Ensure any important data or configurations are saved before deletion.

  • Automatic Timeboxes provide consistency and reduce manual maintenance, but require rebuilding the structure from scratch when switching.

This approach ensures the Timebox aligns correctly with the selected automatic scheduling logic.
