How to fix error "Not sent. Try again." in Chat for JSM

In this article, you’ll learn how to troubleshoot the Not sent. Try again. error that may appear when sending a message in Chat for Jira Service Management.

This issue can be solved by making sure the Summary field in your request type is not set to Use preset value and hide from portal. Unchecking this option resolves the issue.

Steps to resolve the issue

  1. Open the Jira space where Chat for JSM is enabled.

  2. Click Space settings.

  3. Under Apps, select Chat for JSM.

  4. In General Settings, click You can customize request types in the Jira settings.

  5. Select the request type used for your chat (for example, Chat).

  6. In the Summary field configuration, clear the Use preset value and hide from portal checkbox.

  7. Save your changes.

After updating the field, you should be able to send messages without seeing the error.
