Troubleshooting slow project deployment when using custom icons
Sometimes a project deployment with Configuration Manager for Jira takes much longer than expected. This is not a failure, but it can happen when custom images are used as project icons, request type icons, or issue type icons. Since these images are not exported or imported directly, the app spends extra time trying to process them. A single project will still deploy, just slowly, but if you include multiple projects in one snapshot, the process can time out.
Instructions
To speed things up, replace custom icons with Jira’s standard icons before creating your snapshot. If you really need custom images, make sure the same files exist on the target Jira system in the same location. For large deployments, split your snapshot into smaller ones so each import runs faster and avoids timeouts.
If your deployment is unusually slow, check whether custom icons are in use. Using Jira’s built-in icons or confirming the images exist on both systems usually solves the problem.
