Issue Matrix for Jira: Data Center to Cloud migration health checks when using JCMA
Use the following migration health and readiness checklist to assist in migrating Issue Matrix for Jira from Data Center (DC) to Cloud using JCMA.

Ensure the Issue Matrix app is installed on the target Cloud site with a valid subscription or entitlement. To avoid data extraction issues for app configurations, ensure JCMA is version 1.8.0 or higher. |
| 2 | Usage and Configuration Inventory | List all matrix fields. Click Jira Admin > Custom Fields > Filter by Issue Matrix type. Note how many projects and screens each matrix field is used in. (Optional) Use Power Admin for Jira to analyze dependencies and usage for each matrix field. Export XML configurations for each custom field under Edit Matrix Configuration > Export XML. |
| 3 | Matrix Configuration Review | Identify configurations using: JQL Mode Filter Mode Epic Mode Issue Links or Sub-task Mode Document any advanced Create and Link Actions, especially if you’re using custom field prefills or dynamic values. Avoid Current Issue syntax in JQLs during the Create/Edit screens process. These types of JQL statements may cause performance issues or silent failures. Clean up any invalid or deprecated fields used in matrix columns or filters. |
| 4 | Dry Run Validation (Optional) | Perform a JCMA Dry Run, review logs for: Migration completion percentage for Issue Matrix (should be 100% if successful). Confirm that all Create and Link Actions still behave as expected. |
