Dashboard Hub Pro: Fix the Unexpected error, 500 Permissions Issue

This article provides information about datasource permissions required for the customer portal and steps to resolve the Unexpected error: Status Code 500 issue.

Issue

You encounter the following error on a customer portal dashboard:

  • Unexpected error: Status Code 500 (see screenshot below)

Instructions

  1. Navigate to Apps > Dashboard Hub > Open Dashboard.

  2. Click Edit > the Action Button (…) on gadget > Configure.

Click the Configure option in the action menu
  1. Click the Green toggle button and switch to the Owner permission.

  1. Click Save

  • If the gadget is configured with the “Run as Viewer” option in the customer portal, it will attempt to use the logged-in user’s permissions. And when the logged-in user doesn’t have the proper permissions to request data, the 500 error is displayed. To be shared, gadgets must be configured with the “Run as owner” option.
