How to use the "Week of the Month" metric within the Reports and Timesheets for Jira app

This article explains how to use the “Week of the Month“ metric in the Reports and Timesheets for Jira app.

The "Week of the Month" metric is designed to work within a single calendar month.

It doesn't reverse the data. Rather, it follows how the dates fall within the month.

Here's how weeks are defined:

  1. Any Saturday (SA1) that occurs within the first week of any month is considered part of Week 1.

  2. The next span, from Sunday (SU1) to the following Saturday (SA2), again for any month, falls under Week 2.

  3. From Sunday (SU2) to Saturday (SA3), it's Week 3.

  4. From Sunday (SU3) to Saturday (SA4), it's Week 4.

  5. From Sunday (SU4) to the last day of the month is considered Week 5.

Example: Week 4 shows all the data of March, April, and May (depending on the dates).

If the data spans across multiple months, the best format you can use is week of year [w] instead of week of month [W].
