How to fix error "Unable to save organizations. Invalid organization ids specified."

Problem

This article explains how to fix the following error in Jira Cloud when using the Chat for Jira Service Management (JSM) application.

The error occurs in the Chat for JSM dashboard when you have organizations created in Jira but they aren’t associated with your current Jira project.

Example:

This issue occurs because your organizations are not linked to your Jira project. To fix it, follow these steps:

Go to your project in Jira.
Select Customers > Organizations from the side menu.
Click Add organizations and choose the organization(s) you’ve created.
After selecting an organization, you can also manage which emails will be associated with the current organization. For more details, see Use email domains to automatically group customers into organizations | Jira Service Management Cloud | Atlassian Support.
After configuring your email domains, go back to Chat for JSM and try assigning organizations manually. The error should no longer appear.
