JSU Data Center to Cloud Migration Checklist
To assist in your migration, you can use the following checklists for migrating JSU from Data Center to Cloud.
✅ Pre-migration checks
| Checkpoint | Solution |
|---|---|---|
1 | Install JSU on Jira Cloud | Confirm JSU is installed and licensed (trial or paid) on the target Jira Cloud instance. Ensure: JSU Data Center is licensed, and the version is preferably the latest. JCMA (or CMJ) is the highest compatible version with Jira Server/DC |
2 | Review feature compatibility | Gain a clear understanding of the feature differences between JSU Data Center and Cloud. Refer to JSU Server/DC vs Cloud feature comparison to identify any unsupported features. |
3 | Check JSU DC usage | Identify where JSU is used in your Jira DC instance to enable comparison after migrating to the Cloud. You can use one or more of the following methods:
|
4 | Test migration | Perform a test migration to identify any potential issues in advance; this helps ensure a smoother production migration. |
✅ Post-migration checks
| Checkpoint | Solution |
|---|---|---|
1 | Fix errors and warnings listed on the Cloud JSU Migration Reports page | On the JSU Migration Reports page of the target Cloud instance, review all the tabs and resolve the listed issues. Refer to JSU migration reports for details. Ref |
2 | JSU rules loaded | Go to JSU → My Workflows and confirm all rules are listed and enabled. Refer to My Workflows for more details. |
3 | JCMA automatically migrates JSU Data Center conditions and validators that exist natively on Jira Cloud to their native equivalents. This is done outside of JSU’s control. | Once the migration to Cloud is complete, based on your requirements, remove the migrated Jira Cloud native workflow validators and conditions; manually add the required JSU validators and conditions. Refer to JSU Rule Builder - Conditions and JSU Rule Builder - Validators |
4 | Review Execution Logs | Go to JSU → Execution Log to investigate any failures or errors. |
5 | Key workflow transitions test | Create test issues and run transitions to validate expected automation behavior. |
