Comala Publishing Cloud publish to the wrong target space

 Problem

I published a page from our documentation and it went to the wrong target space.

 Solution

It can happen that the affected page in the draft space is still linked to the page in the legacy target space. This issue may arise if the publishing process for the affected page is ongoing during the target space change, or if the affected page was not indexed when the transition to the new target space occurred.

Possible workarounds:

  1. Access the affected page in the legacy target space:

    • Delete the problematic page to clear the publishing link.

    • Return to the source space page, where the publishing byline should now indicate ‘New’.

    • Publish the source space page; it should now be directed to the expected target space.

    • If you wish to retain the page in the legacy target space, you can always restore it from the trash later.

  2. Navigate to the affected page in the source space:

    • Open the Page Analysis tool.

    • On the ‘Diagnostics’ tab, click on ‘Link it to this page’:

    • This action will establish a connection between this page and the corresponding page in the target space (Checklist for Jira Documentation) that shares the same title.

    • Important Note: Please be aware that when the source page is published to the target, it will replace the content of the existing target page. Consider this carefully if the content on the target space page differs, as you may wish to retain both versions.
