Comala Document Management Data Center | Page did not transition after expiration

Comala Document Management Data Center | Page did not transition after expiration

Problem

The Expired transition did not happen after a page successfully expired.

Solution

Review and perform the following workarounds to troubleshoot this issue:

  1. Check the expiration settings
The Expired transition only occurs on the page expiry, so it's important to ensure the expiration occurs.
The expiration might not work as expected if:

    • The expiration period is very short (less than 10 minutes), or

    • The expiration date and time have already passed

  2. Test with a new page
When testing the Expired transition, you can use a new page with the same expiration settings to determine whether the issue affects all pages in the space or just a specific one.

  3. Reindex Confluence
The app relies on Confluence search to find the expired page. Reindex Confluence to ensure the search results are up to date.
    For more information, see :https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/content-index-administration-148844.html.

  4. Run Data Refresh
After reindexing, run the data refresh process.
See: Data Refresh - space tools | Running the space data refresh

  5. Check Scheduled Jobs
If the above workarounds don’t help, you need to verify if the following scheduled jobs are running:

    • Workflow Expiration Trigger

    • Workflow Queue Flush

Navigate to: Confluence Administration > Scheduled Jobs

Confluence administration - scheduled jobs
your_confluence_instance/admin/scheduledjobs/viewscheduledjobs.action
  • Enable scheduled jobs that are not running
If the Workflow Expiration Trigger and Workflow Queue Flush jobs are not running, enable them and then try to reproduce the issue.

  • Re-enable scheduled jobs that are running
If the Workflow Expiration Trigger and Workflow Queue Flush scheduled jobs were running, disable them, wait a few seconds, and enable them again. Then, try to reproduce the issue again.

  1. Restart the Confluence instance

It is recommended to restart Confluence after updating either Comala Document Management or Confluence itself to ensure all changes take effect properly.

  1. If after following these steps, the issue persists, contact Appfire Support.
