How to Manage unwanted notifications from Jira Integration+ in Slack

Overview

Sometimes, you might receive notifications from the Jira Integration+ app on Slack regarding issues and actions, even if you did not configure them. This can include notifications about actions such as comments added by other users, priority updates, or issues moved to another project, even if the recipient is not the assignee, reporter, watcher, or mentioned in the comment. Here’s the configuration screen:

Example Scenario

You might receive notifications about activities such as another user adding a comment to an issue, even when the user is not the assignee, reporter, watcher, or mentioned in the comment.

Reason for Unwanted Notifications

This behavior is caused by advanced personal notification settings in Jira Integration Plus. For more details, see: Advanced personal notifications.

Important Note

Although these advanced notifications are turned off by default, the notification checkboxes appear enabled when a user opens the configuration page. If the user clicks Save without making any changes, the notifications will become enabled, resulting in the user receiving notifications for every issue, regardless of their connection to the issue.
