Tableau Connector Pro for Jira connector URLs only work for Web Data Connector 2.0, but not OData
Problem
Tableau has deprecated support for Web Data Connector (WDC) 2.0 connectors that Tableau Connector Pro for Jira uses.
To address the deprecation of WDC 2.0, we have added support for using OData connectors as an alternative so our customers can migrate to a Tableau-supported connection before WDC 2.0 support is dropped completely. However, customers who try switching to the OData connector cannot view the contents of reports in Tableau, whereas the WDC 2.0 connector works fine.
Solution
The root cause is an outdated version of Tableau Desktop that does not support OData connections. To fix this, upgrade to Tableau Desktop version 2023.3 or newer.
To display data in an unsupported version of Tableau Server, use the connector with Tableau Desktop 2023.3 or newer, then publish the report from Tableau Desktop to Tableau Server.
If you’re publishing the report to an outdated version of Tableau Server, note that newer Tableau features may not be displayed in the report. Refer to the following Tableau KB for more information: Make Workbooks Compatible with Older Versions
