How to create a CMJ snapshot that contains Filters and Dashboards only.

How to create a CMJ snapshot that contains Filters and Dashboards only.

Configuration Manager for Jira (CMJ) is designed to package configurations at the project level and higher to ensure data integrity and prevent broken configurations. This app does not offer a functionality for migrating dashboards and filters only.

 Instructions

Dashboards and filters could be transferred with a dummy project as a workaround:

  1. Create an empty project in the source instance.

  2. Open Configuration Manager for Jira and go to Snapshots.

  3. Select this lightweight dummy project to migrate in a 'project configuration' snapshot.

  4. Select all the dashboards and filters needed.

  5. Once the snapshot is created, cleaning up the dummy project data from the source instance is recommended (optional).

  6. Deploy the snapshot in the target instance.
