Move OKR
Overview
Moving OKRs across the hierarchy means aligning and cascading Objectives from the top level (company-wide) to the lower level (teams or individuals). This ensures that everyone’s efforts contribute to broader goals.
Typically, company-wide OKRs are broken down into team—or department-level OKRs, which are further refined into individual OKRs. The key is ensuring alignment, clarity, and focus so that each level supports the others.
Move OKRs across OKR hierarchy
The OKR Overview page visualizes all the OKRs associated with a box in a tree-like hierarchical structure. You can move up and down the individual Objectives, sub-objectives, and Key Results.
To move an OKR:
Mouseover an OKR.
Click the arrow that appears on the upper and/or lower edge of the OKR swimlane.
Click the up or down arrow to move the OKR by one level.
Limitations
You cannot:
move a parent Objective if there are no other Objectives in the structure (Key Results cannot exist without an Objective).
move an OKR if any of the columns in the column layout is sorted (sorting affects the hierarchy order).
move the top OKR up and the bottom OKR down.
nest a parent Objective under another parent Objective (top-level Objectives cannot become sub-objectives to other top-level Objectives).
move an Objective without its sub-objective (a lower-level Objective cannot become a top-level Objective).
swap an Objective with its sub-objective (a lower-level Objective cannot become a top-level Objective).
swap a Key Result with its Objective unless it will fall under a sub-objective (parent Objectives are always the top-level items).
