Add weight to OKR

Overview

Key Result weights are important for showing how they affect (sub)Objectives' goals.

By default, each OKR has a weight of 1, meaning they are equally important. You can adjust the weights to reflect differences in effort, time, or importance.

Weights can only be assigned to sub-objectives and Key Results because these contribute toward achieving a parent Objective. High-level (parent) Objectives do not contribute to any other goal; they are the primary goal themselves.

Add weights to OKRs

  1. When creating a sub-objective or Key Result, click the weight value directly on the OKR creation screen.

  1. On the Contribution to parent Objective screen, edit the weights of the sub-objectives and Key Results. Type in the new value or use the up/down arrows to increase or decrease the weight.

  2. The app will automatically calculate the contribution.

Adding and changing OKR weight.
  • If you are creating an Objective without an assigned higher-level Objective, you will not be able to add weight to it, as top-level Objectives do not require weights. Once you assign a higher-level Objective to it, the weight field becomes available.

  • When creating the first KR for an Objective, its contribution will be 100%, regardless of the weight. However, as you add more KRs, the contribution of each KR will decrease.

  • It is possible to assign 0 to the weight. A weight of 0 means the progress of the sub-objective or Key Result does not contribute to the progress of its Objective.
