Create Key Result
What is a Key Result?
In the context of OKR (Objectives and Key Results), a Key Result (KR) is a measurable outcome that tracks progress toward achieving an Objective or sub-objective. It defines how success will be measured and provides a way to assess if the objective has been accomplished.
Key Result attributes
In the OKR module, a Key Result has the following attributes (the attributes marked with an asterisk* are mandatory to provide during the Key Result creation process):
Name* - Give a descriptive name for the Key Result contributing toward achieving the Objective.
Description - Provide a brief description of the Key Result for your stakeholders.
Link work items - Link Jira work item(s) associated with the Key Result.
Progress - Decide how you want to track the KR's progress (update it manually or have it automatically calculated based on the status of the linked work items).
Measure as (Update manually) - From the dropdown, choose the Numeric, Percentage, or Currency value (USD ($), EUR (€), GBP (£), BRL (R$), CHF (CHf), IDR (Rp), INR (₹)).
Current (Update manually) - Define the current value of the “Measure as” unit you start at the beginning of the period. If you start a new project, it will most likely be a 0.
Target (Update manually) - Define the value you plan to achieve over the OKR period.
The Measure as, Current, and Target options are only available when you set your KR to Update manually. Key Results set to Linked to work items are tracked by the number of Jira work items completed and come with no extra attributes.
Period* (Expected start and Expected end) - Select one of the pre-defined periods from the dropdown or create a custom one. Once you select the period, the start/end dates are filled in automatically.
Type - Select one of the pre-defined Objective types (Company, Personal, Team) or create a custom one.
Owner* - The Objective Owner is filled automatically, but you can edit it.
Collaborators - Add other people who are involved in achieving the Objective.
Teams - Add team(s) associated with the objective.
Labels - Add label(s) to find the Objective faster.
Contribution (sub-objective) - Define a contribution % that reflects how much a given sub-objective contributes to its parent Objective's progress upon full completion. By default, all OKRs under the same Objective equally share the contribution, but you can edit their individual values.
