Step 2: Migrate your Scaffolding data to cloud
Overview
The steps on this page guide you in performing Confluence migration using Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant.
Prerequisites
Install the Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant app and read the documentation.
Get a maintenance window scheduled for your Confluence Data Center.
Enable migration logs to see the start, progress, and completion of migration and summary report.
Have a Confluence Cloud instance ready.
If you haven’t already done so, sign up for your cloud site. Then, decide whether you want to conduct your test on a trial site or a production site.
Install your Confluence Cloud with Scaffolding Cloud.
1. Prepare the migration tool
DO NOT skip this step! Doing so will only migrate your Scaffolding structure and Live Template macros, but not the Scaffolding data.
Navigate to the Migration Assistant home page.
Locate Assess your apps and click View app assessment.
In the Assess your apps dialog, find Scaffolding and select the Needed in cloud decision.
Complete the assessment and click Done.
On the Migration Assistant home page, locate Prepare your apps and click Begin preparing.
Connect to your destination Confluence Cloud site and click Continue.
Review the Scaffolding privacy policy and click Continue to agree.
In the Agree to app migration dialog, click Done.
2. Perform the migration
On the Migration Assistant home page, click Migrate your data.
On the Migrations dashboard, click Create new migration and review the process steps.
Click Connect to cloud and configure this migration with a name and a destination cloud site.
Click Choose what to migrate and make your selections.
You must select at least one space to be migrated. Scaffolding data migration will happen for the selected spaces.
Click Check for errors and wait for the pre-migration checks to complete.
Scroll down to the Apps > App vendor checks section and click View app vendor checks.
In the App vendor checks dialog, expand the Scaffolding section.
If there are warning messages, download the reports and resolve the issues listed in the CSV files to ensure that your Scaffolding data will be migrated successfully.
The Repeating data macros check report lists the pages that contain Repeating Data macros nested with unsupported macros. Update each page to ensure that the Repeating Data macros are nested with supported Scaffolding macros only. For details, see the Feature differences document.
The Nested macros check report lists the pages the pages with nested Scaffolding macros. Update each page to ensure that the Repeating Data macros are nested with migratable Scaffolding macros only. Update each page to ensure that the Scaffolding macros are at the root level of your page structure.
Click Refresh all to run the pre-migration check again.
If the warning is resolved successfully, the check displays a green tick.Click Continue and click Review Migration.
In the Review your migration dialog, click Run now.
The new migration process is saved to your Migrations dashboard, where you can view the progress and details of all your migrations.
3. Verify the migration
On the Migration dashboard, select the View Details action for your migration.
Wait until you see a complete status with a message about the next action steps.
