Try out the Field Group Introduction template
The Scaffolding - Field Group macro includes templates with prebuilt forms. To quickly get started, you can insert a template and adjust it as needed.
The Field Group Introduction template showcases example form structures and lets you explore the available input fields to see how they work.
Create a form from the Field Group Introduction template
In page edit mode, add the Scaffolding - Field Group macro.
In the macro editor, click Templates in the top-right corner.
The Templates library opens on the left side. It includes a search bar for finding templates by keyword and lets you preview a form by hovering over a template.
Select the Field Group Introduction template.
The template form loads into the macro editor.
Review the example form structures and the input fields in the template.
The first part of the template demonstrates:
a - An input field inline with the text.
b - Various input fields within the cells of a standard table with a header column.
Click an input field and review its field settings in the panel on the right side.
The middle part of the template demonstrates:
c - All available input fields within the cells of a standard table with a header row.
Review the Comment column to learn more about each input field.
The last part of the template demonstrates:
d - A dynamic table, that is, a Table field nested with various other input fields, which allows adding, removing, and reordering rows in edit content mode.
A dynamic table usually consists of one header row and one row with input fields.
e - Sections with headings and rich-text content.
Optionally, modify the form. You can:
Edit and add content to try out the rich editor.
Click an input field and modify its settings to see the available options.
Click Insert in the bottom-left corner to insert the macro with the form.
Optionally, insert one or more Field Group macros on the same page.
Publish the page.
Fill out the form
In page view mode, each Field Group macro displays with the Edit content button, which lets you add or edit the data in the form.
Click Edit content in the top-right corner of the macro.
The macro opens in edit content mode.
Fill in one or more input fields.
In content edit mode, the Publish, Discard draft, and Close buttons appear in the top-right corner.
Click the Publish button to save the data you entered in the form.
The saved data now appears on the page.
