Scaffolding - Field Group

With the Scaffolding - Field Group macro, you can create a form with various types of input fields.

Description

The Field Group macro acts as a logical group of input fields. You can add multiple input fields to a Field Group macro. You can add multiple Field Groups macros to a page or template.

For best results, combine the Field Group macro with the Live Template macro, using the Field Group to define the structure in your source template or page.

Macro editor

When inserting or editing the Field Group macro, the macro editor lets you build your form or template.

The Field Group macro editor consists of:

  1. The Field Group settings section includes the Field Group name parameter, which is required and must be unique. It is used to integrate with the Reporting app for generating reports that include Scaffolding fields.

  2. The Add fields section contains all input fields that you can use to create forms and templates. To add an input field, you drag it into the editor area. The macro supports the following input fields:

  4. The editor area includes a rich text editor and lets you add various input fields to build your forms.

  5. The Templates library includes predefined forms, which you can preview and add to your macro editor to quickly get started. For details, see Try out the Field Group Introduction template.

  6. The full-width/fixed-width toggle lets you select the mode that better suits your page layout or your editing preferences. 

Macro content editor

To add data to a Scaffolding form, you open the page in view mode and click Edit content in the top-right corner of the Field Group macro. The Field Group content editor opens, where you can fill out the form and publish your data. For details, see Publication statuses and notifications of the Field group macro.
