New features
The Pie Chart gadget becomes Flexi Charts
The Pie Chart gadget has been replaced by a new gadget that supports additional chart types and configurations: the Rich Filter Flexi Charts gadget. The existing Pie Chart gadgets are automatically converted into flexi charts with the same configuration. The Flexi Charts gadget also supports all the configurations previously available through the Date Bar Chart gadget. Starting with this version, the Date Bar Chart gadget cannot be added to dashboards anymore; please use the Flexi Charts gadget instead.
The Date Bar Chart gadget will be deprecated in a future version. You are invited, at your earliest convenience, to replace your existing Date Bar Chart gadgets with Rich Filter Flexi Charts gadgets with the equivalent configuration. Until the deprecation, the existing Date Bar Chart gadgets will still display their results and their configuration, but they cannot be reconfigured. Once deprecated, any remaining Date Bar Chart gadgets will not display results anymore, and will only allow you to view their configuration.
Quick charts in statistics gadgets
You can now display charts in the Rich Filter Statistics and Rich Filter Two-Dimensional Statistics gadgets. These charts, referred to as quick charts, require no additional configuration and are directly available in the existing gadgets. You can switch between the table view and the chart view by clicking on the corresponding icon at the bottom-right of the gadget. In the chart view, you can click on the chart type name in the gadget footer to select a different chart type. When the gadget is configured with several values, you can also change the value of the chart in a similar way.
Quick tables in chart gadgets
In all the chart gadgets (Rich Filter Flexi Charts, Time Series Chart and Created vs. Resolved Chart), a new feature called quick table allows you to easily display a table with all the values used in the chart. Click on the corresponding icon at the bottom-right of the gadget to toggle the quick table on and off.
Custom colors for queues and static filters
In the rich filter configuration, you can now select custom colors for queues and static filters. These colors are used by the rich filter gadgets to display their results:
Rich Filter Results gadgets use the queue colors to display the badges with the issue count of the queues, thus facilitating their visual identification.
Simple and Smart Gauges gadgets configured with static filters use the static filter colors to display the corresponding gauges.
Flexi charts configured with a split (i.e. secondary breakdown) based on a static filter use the static filter color to display the corresponding slices.
Options for dynamic filter name
In the rich filter configuration, you can now customize the label displayed by a dynamic filter in the controller. The options are similar to the ones already available for column headers in views. You can choose between the Field name (default option), the Field initials, or a custom label. This can be particularly useful if the field name is too long or otherwise inadequate for your dashboard.
Enhancements
Improvements in smart filter and view lists
The configuration of smart filters and views is accessed in two screens: a screen with the list of smart filters/views, and one with the details of a particular smart filter/view. You can now see and edit more of the configuration directly from the first screen. For instance, from the smart filter list screen you can now:
see the color and JQL of each smart clause,
edit or delete any clause or add a new one,
make a copy of an existing clause (using the right-click menu),
copy to the clipboard the name and JQL of a clause.
These features should reduce the need for going back and forth between the two screens, thus making the configuration changes easier and faster.
Display your issues with one line per row
Previously, Rich Filter Results gadgets could only display issues with variable row height, i.e. the table rows are displayed on one or several lines, depending on the content and on the horizontal space available in the gadget. This is still the default behavior, but now you also have the option to display the issues with one line per row. This mode results in a more compact and consistent layout, at the cost of hiding some content when the available horizontal space is insufficient. This option can be toggled on and off in the settings menu situated in the top-right corner of the issues table. The option for each view is remembered at the browser level, and does not impact other users of the same dashboard.
Support for custom column width in Rich Filter Results
The custom column width is a simple but very useful feature that allows each user to customize the layout of the views in Rich Filter Results gadgets. Simply drag the edge of the column header to reduce or increase the width of the column. The customization is remembered at the browser level, and does not impact other users of the same dashboard. You can reset the column width at any time from the settings menu situated in the top-right corner of the issues table.
Hotfixes
