Migration
This article covers the information needed to migrate app data from Data Center to the Cloud.
What effect will migration have on my MultiExcerpt macros?
For most users, it won’t affect the macros at all. The Macro content is migrated automatically to migrate all other page content. However, there is no Cloud equivalent of the Data Center macro for MultiExcerpt Enhanced Permissions, so you must consider your strategy for Cloud excerpting of restricted resources before you do this migration.
Do I need to perform any additional steps before migration?
No, update 5.6.10(or later) does not require additional steps. You can follow the standard Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant (CCMA) process.
If you previously completed the ‘Prepare Migration’ action to prepare one or more spaces, you can continue migrating your instance to the Cloud without completing your MultiExcerpt migration or a rollback. MultiExcerpt Cloud will accept either unchanged markup or markup migrated to the Cloud using the pre-5.6.7 migration tools.
MultiExcerpt does not need to be selected during migration using CCMA, as it does not migrate or store any app-specific data. Migrating the core Confluence content is sufficient.

Is it possible to convert my Confluence Data Center license to Confluence Cloud?
Unfortunately, no. Data Center licenses are one-time purchases with optional maintenance, whereas Cloud purchases are recurring subscriptions. Existing Data Center app licenses cannot be transferred or credited to the Cloud. These are independent licenses that need to be paid for separately.
If you purchased your Confluence Data Center license directly via the Atlassian Marketplace, you may contact Atlassian Support to see if you are eligible for a refund.
