The Assign to Specific User Role Based on Issue Field post function allows you to automatically assign an issue to a user within a specified project role when the value of a selected field matches a predefined value.
Use case
You can configure this post function to automatically assign issues to the escalated user's project role during the Start Progress transition if the issue's priority is set to Critical.
How to add the Assign to Specific User Role Based on Issue Field post function
Open the workflow where you want to add the condition and locate the transition you want.
Switch to the Post Functions tab.
Click the Add post function button.
Select JEP - Assign to Specific User Role Based on Issue Field Post Function and click the Add button.
Select a field and enter the matching string. When the value of the field corresponds to the specified value, the issue will be assigned to a user within that project role.
Select the project role that the issue will be assigned to.
Click the Add button.
Publish the workflow.
If you use this post function in the Create Issue transition, ensure it is placed immediately after the Creates the issue originally statement in the post function list. The post function will only trigger when the selected field matches the exact value you have specified.
