Recommendations for migration
If your cloud instance already contains the Nextup webhook, disable it before moving any data.
If your webhook is part of the transition, turn it off on the Jira server before starting to migrate.
Once the migration from DC to Cloud is complete
Remove all webhooks from the Jira Cloud instance.
Log into the account portal and change the Jira URL to the new Cloud one by selecting change Jira instance.
Learn more about webhooks.
Two important pieces of data will change during the migration:
User IDs - Each user will be assigned a new ID in Jira Cloud. This means the mapping from Slack user to Jira user will no longer be valid. Therefore, users will have to re-authenticate.
Issue Type IDs - Each issue type is given a new, unique ID within Jira Cloud, so the ID we have in our configurations will no longer match. This will affect any channel notifications or quick create settings, and they will have to be re-saved.
