Newly created Confluence space does not appear in the Confluence space directory.
Problem
When creating a project containing a Confluence space, the newly created space is not shown in the Space directory list, even though the project creation was successful.
This is a known issue and it has been reported to Atlassian. This problem appears in for JIRA 6, as we use XML-RPC method to import the space template. You can follow this issue here : https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-32186.
This problem is fixed in Gaia for JIRA 1.5 (JIRA 7). See GAIA-1
Solutions :
- Locate the space manually:
- In Confluence, from the Spaces menu item on the top menu bar, open the Space Directory
- Locate your space in the "Site Spaces" section (it should be at the end of the list)
- Click the "Add Space to Favourites" star alongside the space name. This will make it appear in your space directory;
2. Force the new space URL in the address bar.
- Having your project key in mind, enter the following URL in the address bar : http://yourserver:8090/confluence/display/YOURPROJECTKEY/
- This should bring you to your home directory
3. Rebuild the search index of your Confluence database
- For this, you need the system administrator to go at /confluence/admin/search-indexes.action
- Click on Rebuild. This may take a while.
