Permissions

The person logging in to Windsurf to generate the Service Key must have a role that includes Service Key Create permissions.

Have a team member with the built-in Admin role generate it. Admins have all permissions enabled by default. Alternatively, if a non-admin is to create a key, they must be assigned a custom role that explicitly has the Service Key Create permission enabled under the Service Key settings category.

To feed Flow's AI activity dashboards, the service key should be scoped with read-only access to your organization's metadata and telemetry. You will want to look for and check these specific permissions:

  • analytics read: Allows Flow to ingest your team's usage activity and dashboard data.

  • teams read-only: Allows Flow to see user lists and team mappings so it can match Windsurf activity to the right developers in your Flow workspace.

  2. Click Next.

  3. Name your integration. This is the name Flow will display for the integration. Choose a name that will help you identify the integration later.

  4. Once you've completed all sections, click Create.
