Since AI licenses are a significant investment, tracking usage is essential to distinguish active users from those with "shelfware" and to ensure resources are used effectively. Analyzing adoption curves lets you identify power users who can then mentor the rest of the team on effective prompt engineering and validation techniques. Ultimately, this data enables a true ROI calculation to confirm whether the tool is delivering the expected productivity gains for your senior engineers.
For that reason, the AI activity dashboard will be used most effectively by leaders who lack visibility into the efficiency and effectiveness of AI tools rollout and adoption across their teams.
The AI dashboard reports will answer questions such as:
How widely is the specific AI tool used?
What is our AI rollout and adoption ROI based on our actual usage data?
What impact has this had on our engineering process?
Access and permissions
To access the AI Tools Insights report, users must be assigned a Role that includes this report. The Copilot also needs to have the metrics API enabled.
To view an AI report:
Go to Reports > Dashboards > AI activity dashboard.
Select the AI technology from the dropdown menu.
