Manually marking a group commit

Manually marking a commit as a group commit ensures that both developers receive credit for their work on the commit.

Permissions

To manually mark a commit as a group commit, you will need access to the following permissions:

  • Manage commits

  • Work log

Additionally, group programming must be enabled and configured in Flow.

Marking a commit as a group commit

Once you have all the necessary permissions and your group programming settings have been turned on, you can manually mark any commit as a group commit via Work log.

  1. In the top navigation, click Reports.

  2. In the left navigation, under Daily check, click Work log.

  3. Locate the commit that you want to mark as a group commit. Click on the commit, then click the three dots icon to open the dropdown menu. Click Mark as a group commit.

  4. In the modal, search for and select the user you want to add to this commit. Remove users by clicking the x next to the name or clicking Clear all.

  5. Click Update once you have added all the necessary users to the commit.

  6. You will see a success banner. The commit now appears as a square when the Group filter is selected in Work log. In all reports where the commit and its metrics are included, credit is allocated to all users associated with the commit, according to your group programming credit allocation settings.
