New Panorama release!

Hey there! Recently, we worked on several major changes to the Panorama. Out of the users' requests and answers to the survey (you’ve probably seen it a couple of times), we chose 3 things you’d probably like the most. We’re talking about:

  • a new way of creating a panorama

  • introducing project panoramas that would eventually replace auto-generated panoramas

  • next-gen projects support

We’re excited to introduce these changes in one release and give you a new Panorama experience!

A new way of creating a panorama

Until now, creating a panorama was done in one dialog with all the settings together - without really explaining what’s going on to the new users. From now on you’ll be creating a panorama in a beautiful panorama creator that guides you through the process with some additional info on what you’re doing and what the options mean. The process consists of only 3 simple steps! We hope you’ll enjoy creating new panoramas even more.

Project panoramas

We know that the auto-generated panoramas caused many of you some confusion but on the other hand, many of you use it every day. We developed a solution that will satisfy both sides. Project panorama is a panorama that contains all issues from a given project.

Project panoramas won’t be generated automatically, so there won’t be a long list of them until you create them for the projects you need. Creating one though is just a 3-step process done in the creator. It’s super easy.

What’s more, you can create a project panorama with more than one project included. You can use it i.e for managing two (or more) projects and all issues from those project will be added to your panorama automatically.

And the best thing- it’s editable. You can reorder issues, put them under folders and move the issues from one Epic to another (if it’s not a next-gen project).

Sounds awesome? You should try creating one!

Next-gen projects support

That was a big request from our users for a while. So we did it! From now on you can work with Panorama if you’re on a next-gen project. You’ll be able to use all of the features - just like while working with the standard projects.

There are just two things that are currently not possible:

  • moving issues between different Epics within a panorama

  • if you create a new issue under Epic in a panorama, you won’t be able to delete them (Jira’s API doesn’t allow add-ons yet to do it in next-gen projects)

We’ll inform you when these two issues will be resolved.

So if you always wanted to include a next-gen project in your panorama - now it’s the time to do it!

Logged time vs. original estimate progress tracking

Have you ever wondered how far your estimations are from reality? Well, now there is an easy way to check this out. Try it on your instance if you use original estimates. You just have to select it in the tracking type selector.

Conclusion

We hope you like what we prepared for you in this new release. If you encounter any trouble, just contact our support.

Thanks for taking the time to read this post. Go ahead and explore the new possibilities!
