Meet the new BigPicture navigation
A faster, smarter, and more intuitive way to work is here. We’ve redesigned BigPicture navigation to give you a smoother experience and better access to what matters most.
→ Discover what’s new, explore key improvements, and review feature name updates on the New navigation page.
→ The rollout will happen gradually, and the previous navigation will be retired in September 2026.
Workload details
Workload
Click the Workload or Remaining capacity cells to display a dialog containing detailed information about all allocated workloads resulting from the tasks in a given period.
This detailed view works in time tracking (Original and Remaining estimate), and Story points effort modes. The dialog appears whenever you click any Workload or Remaining capacity cell within:
Individuals, Teams, Projects, or Skills swimlane
Summary lane
Unassigned lane
Aggregation
You can change the aggregation (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly, by time boxes). To learn more, see the Navigation and interface page.
Workload formula
The table in the dialog shows all tasks that contribute to the Total workload calculated using the following formula: Total workload = Sum of all estimates of the assigned tasks.
Workload values are presented in hours. The following rules apply:
If the task is overdue (the end date < current date), only the logged work (spent time) will be added to the total workload.
If the task has not started yet (the start date > current date), only the remaining estimate will be added to the total workload.
The workload details dialog displays tasks with a workload of 0 to signal that some tasks need estimation.
Infinite workload
When effort is expressed as a percentage, the infinity symbol on a red background indicates that even though capacity is zero, the workload is nonzero
The infinity symbol is used only when you select the “Percent” effort mode unit:
When the team’s capacity is zero
When the skill’s capacity is zero
When the project’s capacity is zero
AND workload is > 0
Note: For “Individuals”, the cell will contain “N/A”
Actions on a dialog box
The table describes how to resize and expand a dialog box.
