Release notes 5.0.0-confluence10
Release date: Apr 29, 2026
This page outlines the updates included in the latest release of Dashboard Hub for Confluence.
Confluence compatibility: Confluence Data Center 10.0.0+
Platform 8 compatibility
This release introduces Platform 8 (Confluence Data Center 10+) compatibility for Dashboard Hub for Confluence. A change in Platform 8 affects how Dashboard Hub connects to your local Confluence instance as a datasource.
Action required: After upgrading, existing users must update their local datasource credentials to restore full functionality. New users must complete an additional setup step on initial install. See details below.
What changed and why
Due to breaking changes and stricter security measures introduced by Atlassian in Confluence 10, previously supported authentication methods are no longer available. As a result, the local Confluence instance must be configured as a datasource with explicit credentials. Users must provide either a username and password or a Personal Access Token (PAT).
Impact on existing users
After upgrading to version 5.0.0-confluence10:
All existing dashboards and gadgets using the local Confluence instance as a datasource will operate in Viewer mode until credentials are provided. Owners will see a warning indicating that credentials must be provided before they can switch between Owner and Viewer mode.
Dashboards that use the local instance as a datasource and are shared using a public link work in Viewer mode until the underlying datasource is updated with credentials. Public URLs will not change.
Once you update a datasource with credentials, its behavior and view settings are restored as originally configured.
Required action: update your local datasource
To restore Owner mode behavior, each user must update their local datasource by providing credentials:
Open your datasource configuration and locate the existing local Confluence instance connector.
Edit the datasource and provide your username and password, or a PAT.
Save the datasource. Owner mode will be restored, and your dashboards will display data as before.
New users: additional setup required
If you are installing Dashboard Hub for Confluence for the first time on Confluence Data Center 10+, you must configure the local instance datasource with credentials during initial setup:
When creating a new datasource, enable the Local instance as datasource toggle. The instance URL field will be hidden, as it is not required for local connections.
Provide your username and password, or a Personal Access Token, and save.
Admins should explicitly enable the option Allow basic authentication on API calls if owners are to use basic authentication for the local datasources.
