Step 1

As a Jira Administrator or Workflow Administrator:

1. Navigate to the required project workflow using Project settings.

2. Edit your workflow to create a draft version.

3. Navigate to the Post Functions tab.

4. Add a Create Issue post function.

Step 2

1. Select the Detailed Fields tab.

2. Select the following:

• Project - Enter a project name that is different from the original project.

  • Issue type - "Improvement".

  • Leave the other default values as is.
    Notice that the Create Issue post function is created and added to the list of post functions.

Step 3

Publish the edited workflow for the changes to be effective in the respective project.

Step 4

1. Navigate to any issue in the respective project.

2. Transition from Open to Start progress for which you added the post function. You observe that no issue is created in the target project since the set Issue type (Improvement) doesn't exist.

3. Navigate to Jira ADMINISTRATION > Manage apps > BOB SWIFT CONFIGURATION > Create on Transition.

4. Select the Log messages tab. You see that a new error log is created with the required information in the log message.
