Overview
Working with workflow transitions might sometimes lead to unforeseen errors or warnings. This article explains an example scenario that causes such error logs. These log messages help an administrator trace any unwanted errors and aid in taking necessary steps to fix them.
Example scenario
Assume that you are creating an issue using the Create Issue post function of the Create on Transition for Jira app and wrongly assigned one of the variables. The following steps explain what happens in such a scenario:
 | Step 1As a Jira Administrator or Workflow Administrator: Navigate to the required project workflow using Project settings. Edit your workflow to create a draft version. Navigate to the Post Functions tab. Add a Create Issue post function.

 | Step 3Publish the edited workflow for the changes to be effective in the respective project. | |
|
 | Step 4Navigate to any issue in the respective project. Transition from Open to Start progress for which you added the post function. You observe that no issue is created in the target project since the set Issue type (Improvement) doesn't exist. Navigate to Jira ADMINISTRATION > Manage apps > BOB SWIFT CONFIGURATION > Create on Transition. Select the Log messages tab. You see that a new error log is created with the required information in the log message.
