Editing approval reviewers
In workflow builder, you can use the approval editor to manage the assignment of reviewers for an approval.
In the Reviewers options, you can mandate who must approve or reject an approval by choosing Set all reviewers that have to approve.
The selected users are automatically preassigned to the approval by the workflow when it transitions into the workflow state containing the approval. Only these users can undertake the approval, and they must all agree on the decision.
The Minimum approvals setting is not compatible with this option. All the reviewers added in the approval editor must undertake the approval.
Set all the reviewers that have to approve
Choose the Set the reviewers that have to approve option to:
Automatically assign set users and/or members of set Confluence user groups as reviewers
Require all the assigned reviewers to undertake and agree upon the approval decision for an approval transition to occur
You must add the users and/or user groups who must approve:
At least one user or one user group must be added as reviewers.
Users added as reviewers are preassigned as reviewers on the transition into the state containing the approval and displayed in the workflow state dialog box.
The approval is inactive for all other users. Users not listed or not members of the groups listed are automatically excluded from undertaking the approval.
Adding a Confluence user group with a large number of users can cause a ‘logjam’ in your document approval process, as all users assigned need to undertake and agree upon the approval decision.
In the workflow builder, the approval is displayed with an icon appended to indicate that the reviewers were preassigned on the transition into the state, and there is no option to manually assign reviewers.
