Overview
When migrating to Comala Document Management for Cloud, the workflow history for all the states is not included in the migration. The migration only includes the last workflow state of each page, and elements of workflow data related to this state, such as the due date and the workflow events and activity in that state, are migrated for pages with an applied workflow.
You can preserve the full workflow events and activity history for audit purposes and include these records in the migration as an attachment on each page and on the space homepage.
Preserving auditable history
If you need access to the workflow events and activity history for audit purposes, you can add this workflow data as attachments to pages in your hosted Confluence instance before migration.
You can use the hosted app Attach Activity and Metadata utility option in each space before migration to create and add the page workflow events and activity history as
a CSV file attachment to each page
a zip file attachment to the space homepage
You can also use the Export Metadata option to store page and blog post metadata to include it in a migration to the cloud.
Attach activity utility
You can choose
Export per page to export workflow events and activity for each page in the space as a CSV file attachment on the page
Export single ZIP to export workflow events and activity for all pages in the space as a zip file containing all the page activity CSV files as a single file attachment on the homepage
You can run both Attach Activity export options in a space.
Each time you run the utility, an additional CSV file is generated and added to the page as a dated file attachment.
Although the cloud workflow or app reports do not access this record, it remains as an attachment on the migrated page.
You can also keep your spaces and pages on a Confluence-hosted instance in readonly mode so auditors can review previous document (page) activity.
CCMA Attach Activity pre-migration verification check
The Atlassian Confluence Cloud Migration Assistant includes a vendor app pre-migration assessment that checks if the Attach Activity utility has been run for the spaces included in the migration plan.
The downloadable CSV file lists whether the Attach Activity and the Attach Metadata utilities have been run for the spaces included in the migration plan.
