Add an approval

Overview

The app includes a single approval workflow.

The approval workflow is added and applied to your pages or blog posts in a space by either

Add an approval to a page

A page editor can add page-level approval on a page-by-page basis using the Add Approval option in the page tools menu.

The approval workflow is applied to the document, and by default, the approval is set as the initial workflow state, Review.

The Add Approval option is only available when no space approval is active in the space.

Add an approval to all documents in a space

The space administrator can add space-level approval to all the pages and blog posts in a space using the app space document approval dashboard.

Choose Approvals from the space tools menu.

In the space tools Approvals dashboard, the Simple Approval Workflow is displayed.

To add and apply the approval workflow to all documents in the space, select the Simple Approval Workflow and move the grey slider to green.

The approval workflow is applied to all the documents in the space, and by default, the approval is set as the initial workflow state, Review.

Space approval applies to all documents in a space, even those with an active page approval.

The space approval can be removed from the documents in the space by making the workflow inactive in the approvals dashboard.

Using an approval workflow on the page

Once applied to a page or blog post, a document can be reviewed and approved, or rejected, using the approval state dialog box.

One or more users can be assigned as reviewers using the Add reviewers option.

Approval activity is recorded in the document activity report for each document.
