Get started with Autowatch for Jira
Autowatch for Jira automatically adds watchers to issues based on custom JQL rules. Instead of relying on users to manually watch issues they care about, you define the criteria once — and Autowatch handles the rest whenever an issue is created or updated.
Rules are scoped to individual projects and can be created by any project administrator, with no global configuration required.

Use case
A development team uses Jira to track bugs across several projects. The QA lead needs visibility on every bug filed in the team's main project, but asking everyone to watch issues manually is unreliable. Using Autowatch, the QA lead creates a rule with the JQL project = MYPROJECT AND issuetype = Bug and adds themselves and two other QA engineers as watchers.
From that point on, any time a bug is created or updated in that project, all three are automatically added to the watchers list — no manual action required, and no issues slip through unnoticed.
