Aggregate fields into the Issues table
Tableau Connector Pro for Jira enables you to aggregate selected fields and import them into Tableau Desktop using Tableau’s OData protocol and Web Data Connector API.
OData Connector
Import aggregated fields into the Issues table
The Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app supports aggregating selected fields into an Issues table.
However, in scenarios involving a large number of one-to-many relationships, the OData will still generate multiple tables. For example, for the fields Comments, History, and all integration fields such as Tempo, Projectrak, and Assets.
To aggregate fields into the Issues table when creating a new OData connector, select the field Aggregate fields into the Issues table.
Once the data is imported into Tableau Desktop and the configuration for aggregated fields is changed on the OData configuration screen, existing reports can break or behave inconsistently.
OData report portability between aggregated and non-aggregated fields
If you want to fetch reports with both aggregated and non-aggregated fields, then you need to maintain two sets of reports for each configuration: one for aggregated mode and another for non-aggregated mode.
Tableau reports created using the WDC connector are not compatible with the OData Connector, even when the option Aggregate fields into the Issues table is enabled.
Additionally, existing WDC reports are not compatible with the aggregated OData model, even though their fields are the same.
