How to Import Insight (now Assets) data configured in the Jira Cloud instance
This tutorial explains how to fetch the Insight (now Assets) data configured in a Jira Cloud instance using the Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app and import it into Tableau Desktop. Once the data is imported, your Tableau data analyst can use Tableau capabilities to analyze and transform the data into actionable insights.
Insight is now called Assets.

Pre-requisite
Ensure Tableau Connector Pro for Jira is integrated with Insight (Assets) in Jira Service Management. Refer to Insight (now Assets) Integration - OData.
You need an Email and API Token to import the Insight data from Jira Cloud. To generate a token, refer to Email and API Token.
API tokens with scopes: The app does not support API tokens with scopes. If you are looking for API tokens with scopes, contact support.
Create a connector
To create a connector, navigate to Jira > Tableau Connector Pro > My Connectors and click Add New Connector.
The connector form displays the Jira and JSM fields to create the Connector URL. The Insight Attributes and Insight Types list the insight fields.
Email and API Token
On selecting the Insight Attributes and Insight Types, the connector form prompts for the Email and API token to access Insight data. To generate a token, click Email and API Token.
Insight Attributes
Select the required Insight Attributes to import.
Enter the email and API token to grant access to Insight Attributes data. To generate a token, click Email and API Token.
Specify the AQL query to filter the Insight Objects data or fetch the complete Insight data. For reference, here an AQL is applied to fetch the required Insight object type data for Business services.
To validate the AQL, click Validate AQL Syntax. On successful validation, an appears.

Insight Types
Select the required Insight Types to import.
Enter the email and API token to grant access to Insight Types data. To generate a token, click Email and API Token.
The Insight (Asset) Object Schemas drop-down lists all the available Object schemas in the Assets. The default value is All schemas.
Select the Object Schema. For reference, here the Object Schema Services is selected.
To save the Connector details, click Save and Close.
Once you save the connector, the My Connectors screen displays the list of connectors. To import data into Tableau Desktop, copy the connector URL. Click COPY URL.
Import the data to Tableau Desktop
To import Insight data into Tableau Desktop, refer to Import into Tableau.
Scenario 1: Import the required Insight data using a Connector URL with AQL.
In this example, AQL is applied to import only Business services object-type data.
Launch Tableau Desktop and navigate to OData.
In the Server text field, paste the connector URL.
From the Authentication drop-down, select Username and Password.
Enter the username and password set on the Tableau Connector Pro > My Connectors > Make Private screen.
If the username and password is not set for connectors, then select No Authentication.
Click Sign In.
The Insight data imported through the connector URL appears in Tableau as tables. The Insight Attributes and Insight Types table shows the imported data. Drag the tables on the screen to view the table fields.
Go to the worksheet, and Tableau imports the data by creating an extract. You can build views of the data by dragging and dropping fields onto shelves. For more information, refer to the Tableau Workspace.
The Insight Attributes table displays 67 records of data from the Business Services object type only.

Scenario 2: Import data without using AQL for Insight (Asset) Objects.
In this example, AQL is not applied, and all the Insight Objects type data is fetched.
Without AQL, the Insight Attributes table displays all the data sets for all Object types.
