Tableau Connector Pro for Jira - Permissions for Jira

The Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app requires the following Jira permissions.

• READ

  • Only reads the Jira data.

  • To use the app, you need the minimum Jira Project “Browse” permission.

• ACT_AS_USER

  • Refresh the data in Tableau Desktop using scheduled refreshes, even when the user is offline.

• ADMIN

  • Jira Administrator privileges are required to manage the Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app Settings.

Tableau Desktop: The actions performed on data in Tableau Desktop do not impact the Jira data.

• After importing the Jira data to Tableau Desktop, you have the flexibility to:

  • Modify the data in the Tableau Desktop

  • Delete the data in the Tableau Desktop.

• Tableau Desktop does not write the data back to Jira.

• During the subsequent data refresh, the connector fetches the fresh Jira data to Tableau Desktop.

Since the Tableau Connector Pro for Jira app requires ADMIN permissions to manage App Settings, the marketplace template displays the following security and compliance statements by default.
